The Centre for African Culture invites you to a meeting between Africa and the West, with an unprecedented fusion concert, to be held March 17th.

Bach and African percussion? You’ll be surprised by this exceptional and undoubtedly explosive concert proposed by the Centre for African Culture. This unique show links the voluptuous sounds of the violin to the fiery rhythm of African drumming.

Solo violin pieces performed by Virginie Robilliard. Compositions for African percussion by Thomas Gueï.

Virginie Robilliard, a brilliant laureate at the age of 17 at the Grand Concours International Long-Thibaud, a graduate of the famous Juilliard School in New York, is pursuing a career as an international soloist. Passionate about world music and improvisation, Viriginie also gives an important place to the creation of works by living composers.

Thomas Gueï was born into a family of traditional musicians and dancers. At the age of 7, he joined EDEC, one of the best art schools of the Ivory Coast. Since then, he has worked with choreographers Georges Momboye and Merlin Nyakam.
